Privacy notice
Garage Page builds websites, online booking and reminders for independent garages. This notice explains what we collect about garages and the people who work at them, about drivers who book with those garages, and about visitors to this site: why, who else is involved, how long we keep it, and what you can ask us to do.
Who we are, and who's responsible for what
Garage Page is a trading name of RJP Group Ltd, registered in England and Wales (company no. 05937783), 124 City Road, London EC1V 2NX. You can reach us at hello@garagepage.co.uk or on 01844 395334.
- When you deal with us directly, as a garage, a visitor to this site, or through your Garage Page account, we're the data controller: we decide how your information is used.
- When you book with a garage through its Garage Page, the garage is responsible for your booking, the work on your car and its own customer records. We run the booking system, texts, emails and reminders on the garage's behalf, under a contract that only lets us use your details to provide that service. The garage's own privacy notice also applies.
Garage List (garagelist.co.uk) and Right Pressure (rightpressure.co.uk) are run by the same company and have their own privacy notices.
Visiting garagepage.co.uk
- Checking a registration. If you check a car's MOT, tyres or details, we send the registration to the DVSA's MOT history service and to our vehicle data supplier, Vehicle Data Global. To stop the checks being abused we log each one against a scrambled one-way code made from your IP address, never the address itself. We don't link a check to you.
- The contact form. We keep your name, garage, phone, email and message, and add them to our customer system (GoHighLevel) so we can reply and, if you've asked about Garage Page, follow up about it. Our legal basis is legitimate interests: answering enquiries and selling our service to businesses.
- The chat assistant. The chat on this site and on garage pages is answered by an AI assistant (Anthropic's Claude). We keep the conversation, and any name, phone number or registration you give, so we can follow up what you asked for, check the assistant is giving good answers, and deal with misuse. If you ask for a call back or an example page, that request is added to our customer system too.
- Counting visits. We count visits to our pages, including garages' pages and the garage app, ourselves: which page, which link or button was used, the site you came from, the type of device, and the approximate town your connection comes from. We don't use cookies for this and we don't store your IP address. Each visit gets a scrambled code that changes every day, so we can count visitors without recognising anyone. Nothing you type (names, numbers, registrations or messages) is included. Our legal basis is legitimate interests: understanding how the site is used so we can improve it.
- No tracking. We don't use Google Analytics, advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
Booking with a garage
When you book on a garage's page, by text, by chat or by phone, we collect what's needed to make and run the booking:
- your name, mobile number, email address and the car's registration;
- the work you've booked, the date and time, and any notes;
- your address, if you ask the garage to collect the car;
- anything else you'd like the garage to look at, with any photos or videos you add, and the garage's quote and your answer.
We use these to confirm the booking, send updates and quotes by text and email, and let the garage manage its diary. We look up the car's MOT history and standard details (make, model, tyre sizes and similar) from its registration so the garage can prepare. The legal basis is to arrange the service you've asked for.
Reminders. Unless you switch them off when you book, the garage can email you reminders when your MOT or service is due; text reminders are sent only if you choose them. The legal basis is the garage's legitimate interest in looking after its customers' cars. You can turn reminders off at any time in your account, by replying STOP to a text, or by replying to an email.
The garage's assistant. Some garages use our AI assistant to answer chats, texts and phone calls for them. Chats and texts are handled by Anthropic's Claude. Phone calls are answered by an AI voice service, ElevenLabs, which records the call and keeps the recording for 90 days. ElevenLabs uses an AI model from OpenAI to understand and answer. The assistant can see your existing bookings with that garage, found from your phone number, so it can help with them. You can always ask to speak to the garage instead.
Courtesy cars: licence and insurance checks
If you book a courtesy car, the garage needs to check you can drive it. You may be asked to:
- Upload your driving licence and insurance documents. These are stored privately. An AI service (Anthropic's Claude) reads them to check that the name matches your booking, that they're in date and that they're the right kind of document. It picks out details such as your name, date of birth, licence number, expiry and categories, and your insurer, policy number and dates of cover. The garage sees the documents and the results of these checks.
- Give a DVLA check code and the last 8 characters of your licence number, so the garage can check your licence on GOV.UK.
We delete these documents about a month after you upload them, unless you ask us to keep them on file for future bookings, in which case we keep them for about a year. You can delete them yourself from your account at any time. The legal basis is to arrange the courtesy car you've asked for, and the garage's legitimate interest in lending its cars only to people who can drive them legally.
Your Garage Page account
Bookings made with a mobile number are gathered in an account at garagepage.co.uk/account, which can include bookings with more than one garage. You sign in with a code we text you, or with the link in your confirmation text. The account holds your name, email and address (taken from your bookings), your cars, your reminder settings, your bookings, documents and quotes, and any photos you add.
- Removing yourself from one garage. This deletes your documents held for that garage, cancels your future bookings with it, removes your details from your past bookings and stops its texts.
- Deleting your account. You can do this in the account. We wait 14 days in case you change your mind, then delete your details, cars, photos and documents, and remove your name and contact details from your bookings. The garages keep the bare record that a booking happened.
Garages and their staff
- Garage staff using the Garage Page app. We keep each person's name, email, mobile number and role. Sign-in uses a password and an authenticator app, and we log sign-ins, failures and sign-outs against a scrambled code made from the IP address. We use this to run the service, keep accounts secure and support you.
- Garages we approach. We use business details that garages publish or that are publicly available: the DVSA register of MOT test stations and Google business information (name, address, phone, opening hours, rating and reviews). We may build an example page for a garage and call, text or email the business to show it. Reviews shown on garage pages come from Google, with reviewers' surnames shortened to an initial. Our legal basis is legitimate interests: offering our service to businesses. Calls are screened against the Telephone and Corporate Telephone Preference Services where they apply. If you'd like us to stop contacting your garage, or to remove its example page, tell us and we will.
Texts, emails and calls
Texts are sent through Twilio, and we keep a log of the texts we send and receive so we can deal with problems. Reply STOP to any text to stop texts from us; reply START to turn them back on. Emails about bookings are sent through Resend on the garage's behalf, and replies go to the garage. To stop emails, change your settings in your account or reply to any email.
What's stored on your phone or computer
We don't use cookies. Your browser stores a few things to make the site work: your sign-in for your account or the garage app (only for as long as you choose to stay signed in, up to 90 days for your account and 30 days for the app), the chat you're having (until you close the tab), and settings such as your preferred tyre pressure units. This stays in your browser and isn't used to track you.
Who else is involved
These companies handle information for us, only to provide their service:
- Supabase: our database, file storage and servers. The database is in London.
- Cloudflare: delivers the website and protects it from attacks.
- Twilio: sends and receives texts, and connects phone calls.
- Resend: sends emails.
- Anthropic: the AI that answers chats and texts, reads number plates from photos, and checks courtesy-car documents.
- ElevenLabs (using a model from OpenAI): the AI voice that answers phone calls for some garages.
- GoHighLevel: our customer system for enquiries from garages.
- Stripe: takes garages' subscription payments and sends their invoices. We never see full card numbers.

Some of these companies are based in the United States or process data there. Where they do, we rely on the protections UK data protection law approves for international transfers, such as the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum. We don't sell personal data.

Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, or stop or limit how we use it. Where we rely on legitimate interests you can object, and we'll stop unless we have a strong reason to continue. Email hello@garagepage.co.uk. If your request is about a booking, you can also ask the garage; we'll help it answer.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put it right first.
Changes
If we change how we use your information, we'll update this notice and the date at the top.
